Today I’m reminiscing of the first day that she was rockin’ in her school shoes, and okay, I’ll admit it. I got a little teary eyed rereading this short post. It seems that she has grown up so much in these two, quick as lightning, years!
Please don’t mind me as I sniffle in the corner. Reminiscing about those adorable little red school shoes and the tiny feet that filled them. Yes, she is still little and adorable, but if I pause long enough and am able to watch her without a furrowed eyebrow and a “Stop staring at me!” then I believe that I can actually SEE her growing. Sniffle. Sniffle… back to my corner.
Hey, look! This corner is not only reserved for parents of kindergarteners, high schoolers and empty-nesters, but it appears that we all like to visit here throughout our children’s lives. Requests today, made by my daughter on her first day of school:
To be woken up for school every morning by the Beatles. Check.
Berries for breakfast. Check.
To wear her leopard printed skirt. Check.
(She changed her mind, and her outfit.)
To “rock it” in her new school shoes, with a special thanks to Pete the Cat for the suggestions. Check.
For her and I both to wear our matching bracelets today. Check.
Regular braids, not french braids, just like daddy does it. Check.
And then… just like that… she was off!
