I’m sending out a great big hug to all of our teacher friends who are headed back to school today! I know that many of you are already a week (or a few) into the new school year, I couldn’t even begin to think about it, until it was basically knocking at our front door. And look who has arrived in our neighborhood: The New School Year.
So… here is a little A Back to School Thank You for Teachers:
In the coming days, we will pack up our children, and place them in your care.
For the thousand little fences that you mend in a day, or hurt feelings that you heal, or fears that you ease-
THANK YOU.
For the thousands of doors that you open for our children, and the knowledge and passion that you share with all of us-
THANK YOU.
And for the sometimes broken system that you work with, or occasional challenging personalities that you may come across- THANK YOU for putting up with them (or us), for the sake of our children.
For the runny noses, poison ivy-ed, silly-willy, adrenaline pumped children that we send to you day in and day out-
THANK YOU.
This list could go on for miles, so feel free to add your own “thank you” and share with those who need to hear it today as another school year begins.
