I am an Artist, Writer, Spacegeek, Eternal Optimist, and Parent to an amazing teen.
In my 40s, I realized each decade, something happens in my life to put me on a different trajectory than what I had planned.
- 20s: Experiencing 9/11 as a military spouse;
- 30s: starting over again as a divorced parent and healing from a trail of places that broke my heart;
- 40s: earning my Real Mama Bears / LGBTQ+ ally support badge at the start of a pandemic and political upheaval.
Each time, suddenly, I was headed somewhere new. It’s made life interesting, to say the least. I’ve learned that magic happens when I lean into the transition, evaluate what I want and deserve, and give myself permission to go after them. Don’t believe me? I’ve hung out with astronauts, was invited to Georgia Okeefe’s home and studio, had my work in galleries and in a magazine after not seriously painting for more than 20 years, and… I met Oprah!
I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had, the people I’ve met, and those who have remained steadfast in their love and support with each twist and turn.
What’s next? Who knows, but I do hope you come along for the ride!
